For those of us that like to save money and the environment, you can use toilet paper tubes, to start seedlings for your spring planting. Take the tube, cut it in half (lengthwise), fill each half with good quality soil, I only place 1 or 2 seedlings per tube. Take 1 tea bag, 1/4 cup water, put the tea bag in the tea. Use this mixture to soak the seeds for about 24 hours, this will encourage quick growth. On larger seeds, nick them first, on the smaller seeds, just soak them, it’s too hard to try to nick them. Take a container, a good container for this would be a left over to go box, (Styrofoam or plastic) this way you can recycle.
Take the toilet paper tubes & place in the container, fill each tube half with dirt, place seed in the dirt, water, when seeds come up and are ready to plant, plant entire tube with its seed. The paper of the tube is biodegradable. Moon flowers seem to really like this.
